A layered and perfumed nose with delicate, spicy, floral aromas, green apple, citrus peel, smoke, and a hint of flint which is supported throughout by savoury lees. The very light-bodied palate is tight and taut, with immediate sweetness which buffers the incredibly zippy, linear acidity running right through the wine. This acid spine is streaked through with ripe calamansi, tangy apple and mandarin pith flavours as it comes to a point on the almost creamy, medium-sweet finish. The high acidity prevents it from ever getting too sweet, remaining feather-light at all times. Beautifully balanced, skillfully made, pure and piercing riesling which will develop toasty complexity in the mid-term 14 May 2025
