Winner of 5 trophies and 18 gold medals, RUA Pinot Noir is crafted in the heart of Central Otago, where warm days meet cool alpine nights. It captures everything we love about the region - vibrant red fruit, a hint of spice and silky tannins to create a smooth, lingering finish.
It's the kind of wine that feels at home anywhere - around the barbecue, at the Christmas table or shared on the deck as the sun sets. No fuss or formality. Just good company, good food and a wine that fits in - yet always feels a little special.
RUA wines are a celebration for every day - vibrant, approachable expressions of Central Otago. The name honours the first two varieties planted in our original vineyard: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The RUA Pinot Noir is rich and generous, with black cherry, raspberry and plum layered over subtle spice and silky tannings. Our Rosé bursts with alpine strawberries, ripe summer blueberries and a touch of orange blossom, while the 2024 Pinot Gris brings fragrant notes of jasmine, pear and nectarine for a lively, fruit-driven finish.

RUA Pinot Noir was launched in 2008 by Sir Clifford and Lady Marie Skeggs, pioneers in Central Otago’s wine story. Their journey began in 1995, when they purchased land in Bannockburn and planted their first vines the following year.
RUA quickly gained recognition for its consistent style and exceptional quality. Each vintage is crafted to reflect the vibrant, approachable character our customers know and love: fresh red fruits, silky tannins, and bright acidity - a Pinot Noir that’s both expressive and effortlessly drinkable.
Today, RUA grapes are sourced exclusively from vineyards owned by the Skeggs family in the Bannockburn and Pisa subregions of Central Otago. This ownership allows us to maintain full control over quality from vine to bottle.
